Casinos in Mozambique

The basic deficiency in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in 1 sense rather questionable, in one way or another.

In past years, the country was a site where a lot of South Africans would drop by to flee from the especially restricting regulations on gaming (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. For these reasons, you may anticipate something of a booming business to oblige that tourist market.

On the other hand, perhaps it isn’t really a surprise. The country is certainly the most bankrupt on the globe, having been through a horrifying civil war (followed by catastrophic floods) from which it is still, very slowly, getting back on its feet. This tends to make a region lesser of a tourist prospect, as much as there is currently a thriving view along a few of the country’s beautiful beaches.

It is at the same time valid that regionally at the very least, Mozambique’s casinos have had to aspire with many others in the freshly liberalized South Africa, which is inclusive of the notable Sun City founded by the Kerzner family establishment.

Here’s a list of Mozambique’s casinos:

Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel

There are 78 slot machines as well as video poker games, five tables of American roulette, 4 blackjack tables, along with one poker table.

Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino

There are 40 slot machines, American roulette, and also two tables for poker and punto banco.

It is thought that over time the complete tourism business in Mozambique will thrive adequately. While the local languages are, of course, African, there is added to that the balance of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the fresh and expanding origin of English, both from South Africa and as part of the worldly phenomenon. The country is quite cheap (naturally, as it is very poor) and as above, has some of the most breathtaking beaches in the world, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the types of features that make tourism executives drool, and as the country elevates out of its existing slump, it is likely that not only will tourism develop, but that the list of casinos in Mozambique will grow longer also.

While the country is improbable to ever recapture its notoriety as a destination for partying South Africans, as there are now other alternatives closer to home for them to indulge in, the expansion of a long distance tourism sector is being planned. This would be to serve Europeans wanting winter sun, as a break from the dreariness of the Northern Hemisphere winter. And, to top it off, the greatest prawns (shrimp) in the world come from just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
